Revolutionary Salmon Welfare Monitoring and the Innovative C2 Concept

Detecting and counting sea lice underwater has always been a challenge, but the clarity of Imenco's fish welfare camera now makes it easier than ever to identify and count sea lice without the need to handle the fish.

The Imenco group, in collaboration with its subsidiary Createview, has launched the C2 concept, a cutting-edge solution for biomass measurement, welfare detection, and lice counting. Built on the self-developed CView platform, this concept uses advanced cameras and software to streamline operations.

Even Bringsdal, Managing Director of Createview, noted, "We are developing a new concept for breeders, providing tools that significantly improve monitoring capabilities." (Photo: Createview/Imenco)

Data algorithms automatically count and estimate the number of sea lice in a cage at any time, a method that has received approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority. Additionally, operators can manually inspect images to gain a detailed understanding of fish health within the cage. The camera is versatile, capturing even the smallest details for various operational needs.

Imenco's Diverse Expertise and Expansion

Over the years, Imenco has grown through innovation and strategic acquisitions, becoming a group of companies specializing in five key business areas: Aquaculture, Offshore Oil and Gas, Offshore Renewable Energy, Marine, and Military Industry.

Imenco holds a leading position in several domains, including underwater camera and aquaculture technology, lighting, laser and electronics, retrofitting systems for underwater corrosion protection, and military and civilian aviation fuel systems. The company is also a major player in visual surveillance, underwater acoustic communication and positioning systems, hydraulic systems, machining services, diving systems, and EPC contracts.
