SalMar Reports Record Harvest and Strong Q4 Results for 2025

  (NORWAY, 2/15/2026)

Lower costs, rising prices, and record biomass position the company for continued growth in 2026

SalMar ASA delivered a strong finish to 2025, reporting record-high harvest volumes and significantly improved fourth-quarter earnings, driven by lower costs across the value chain and rising market prices.

In a milestone year, the Group — including associated companies — surpassed 300,000 tonnes harvested for the first time, reaching 300,900 tonnes in total annual volume.

Strong Fourth-Quarter Performance

For the fourth quarter of 2025SalMar reported operational EBIT of NOK 1,834 million (aprox.US$ 193 million) for the Group, on a harvest volume of 84,100 tonnes, translating to an operational EBIT of NOK 21.8 per kg.

Operations in Norway delivered particularly robust results, with operational EBIT of NOK 1,843 million (aprox.US$ 194 million), harvest volumes of 80,300 tonnes, and operational EBIT per kg of NOK 23.0.

The company highlighted:

  • Continued strong operational and biological performance in Norway, with lower costs across the value chain

  • Reduced contribution from Sales & Industry, reflecting higher market prices

  • Significant improvement at Icelandic Salmon, driven by a lower cost base

  • Weak performance from Scottish Sea Farms

The Board of Directors has proposed a cash dividend of NOK 10.00 per share (aprox.US$ 1.05 per share) for the 2025 financial year.

“The fourth quarter marks the end of a year with lower market prices, but underlying demand has been strong, and we have used the year actively to develop both new and existing markets. At the same time, 2025 has been a good operational and biological year for SalMar, which is now reflected in lower cost levels across all segments,” said Frode Arntsen, CEO of SalMar ASA.

Positive Outlook Backed by Record Biomass

After several years of significant investments aimed at strengthening biological performance and operational efficiency, SalMar now expects a lower investment level in 2026, with planned capital expenditure of NOK 1.1 billion (aprox.US$ 116 million), primarily allocated to maintenance.

The company reports strong global demand for its salmon and anticipates low global supply growth in 2026, following elevated supply growth in 2025. Entering the first quarter of 2026SalMar holds record-high biomass in the sea and has harvested salmon with the highest share of superior quality in 10 years.

For 2026, the company maintains its volume guidance of 296,000 tonnes across NorwayOcean, and Iceland, while reducing guidance for Scottish Sea Farms by 2,000 tonnes to 43,000 tonnes (100% basis). Adjusted for SalMar’s ownership share in Scottish Sea Farms, total expected Group volume is projected at 318,000 tonnes, representing a 6% increase compared with 2025.

“SalMar turns 35 in 2026, and we enter the anniversary year with record-high biomass, a lower cost level, and the highest share of superior quality fish we have seen in ten years. This puts us in a strong position to meet market demand with healthy and nutritious salmon and provides a solid foundation for strong performance throughout 2026,” said Frode Arntsen, CEO of SalMar ASA.

  • Scottish Sea Farms

SalMar ASA

  • Scottish Sea Farms
