The new "Nissui Smart Factory" is a core component of the company's "GOOD FOODS 2030" vision and its current medium-term management plan, "GOOD FOODS Recipe 2." This strategy aims to increase Nissui's domestic food business sales by 50% to ¥209 billion by fiscal year 2030. A Factory for the Future
Scheduled for completion in December 2026, the factory will be a technological showcase. It will feature highly automated and efficient production lines utilizing digitalization and AI for tasks like predictive maintenance. For food safety, a facial recognition access system will be implemented. The factory is also being built with a strong focus on sustainability. Nissui plans to cut power consumption in half through energy creation and conservation and aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions by using non-fossil fuel certification, positioning it as a carbon-neutral facility.

The company's commitment to employee well-being is also a priority. The factory's design will automate and eliminate physically demanding tasks in hot, cold, or strenuous environments, improving the work environment and making it a more desirable workplace.
Strategic Product Focus
The new facility will be a hub for producing key strategic products. It will consolidate and expand the production of frozen noodles with toppings, with a goal of increasing productivity by over 150% compared to existing lines. The factory will also boost the production capacity for "Osakana Sauce®," a commercial food product, to meet growing demand for healthier options. Additionally, it will house an efficient, labor-saving line for producing high-quality fish sausages for the home market.
Rebuilding and Deepening Local Ties
The new factory's location in Tobata Ward, Kitakyushu City, holds significant historical importance for Nissui, which established a trawl fishing and food processing base there in 1930. The company has a long history with the community, and the new facility replaces a frozen food factory that was destroyed by a fire in July 2021. The two smaller, 65-year-old factories currently in operation will be closed, and their production will be transferred to the new facility and the Ube Factory.
<-- Nissui has deep roots in the area, having operated a plant there for many years and now planning to build a new one on the same site.
In recognition of its deep roots in the city, Nissui is currently in discussions with Kitakyushu City to finalize an agreement to promote the local economy, create jobs, and engage in environmental conservation efforts. This new factory represents a significant step in Nissui's mission to deliver advanced, high-quality products to customers while upholding its commitment to sustainability and the local community.
