Logista, one of the largest logistics operators in southern Europe, announces the acquisition of 100%, for 51 million euros, of the refrigerated and frozen food transport and logistics activity spun off from the Carbó Collbatallé Group, which will continue to hold the exploitation of its patrimonial activity.
Through this purchase, Logista reinforces the catalog of services it offers its customers, by "incorporating complementary capabilities in controlled temperature, fundamentally in the frozen range.

The European Commission adopted the programs of the European Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FEAMPA) for Romania, under which the country will receive EUR 232 mln (of which EUR 162 mln from the EU) to implement the EU common fisheries policy.
Nearly a quarter (24%) of the Union contribution will be dedicated to sustainable fisheries, 47% will be invested in sustainable aquaculture and processing and marketing, and 23% will be dedicated to the sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and internal regions, all contributing to the EU’s environmental and climate objectives.
The total financial allocation for the Romanian Programme 2021-2027 (EUR 232 mln) will promote the sustainable growth of the Romanian aquaculture and fishing sector over the next six years.
The international Food, Beverage and Food Service trade fair, organized by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Fira de Barcelona company, has started preparations for its next edition that will take place from March 12 to 15, 2024 at the Gran Vía de the city of Barcelona with the aim of "expanding the internationalization opportunities of the Spanish agri-food company", points out the organization that is already promoting the 2024 edition in Europe, Latin America and North America.

High seafood prices have driven Norway to its third-best month ever in terms of export value, despite many species seeing lower volumes overall and reports of “unrest” in salmon markets.
Norway sold NOK 14.4 billion (USD 1.5 billion, EUR 1.4 billion) worth of fisheries and aquaculture products to overseas markets in November, representing an increase of 19 percent, or NOK 2.3 billion (USD 235.3 million, EUR 222.9 million), compared with November 2021.

The Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has told the autonomous communities that he will fight to defend the best fishing opportunities for the Spanish fishing fleet at the AGRIFISH Council on 11 and 12 December, in which the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and fishing quotas for the year 2023 will be decided.
The minister has announced that he will present alternative measures to avoid a further reduction of the days of fishing in the Mediterranean and the revision of some of the proposals for the Atlantic.

The agreement between the two countries strengthens cooperation in key sectors such as marine fisheries, scientific and technological research, aquaculture and the sustainable operation of joint fisheries.
The cooperation agreement between Morocco and Mauritania in the field of fisheries and aquaculture has been extended until 2024. Moroccan Minister of Agriculture Mohamed Sadiqi and Mauritanian Minister of Agriculture Mohamed Abidine Mayif signed the agreement on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Moroccan-Mauritanian Mixed Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission.
The two countries also agreed to cooperate in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, as well as strengthening maritime rescue processes and combating pollution.

The Russian aquaculture sector is facing the deepest crisis in its modern history, as the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the ever tightening sanctions on Russia has led to a shortage of fish feed, juveniles and equipment.
According to the Russian Aquaculture Association (Rosrybkhoz), aquaculture production grew by 8.3 percent to reach 253,200 tonnes in 2021, with trout accounting for 45 percent of the market, carp 18 percent, sturgeon 7 percent and the remainder including a wide range of species such as oysters, mussels and catfish.
