Escal’s prawns originates from organic certified aquaculture.

From the fishing to the packaging in the processing plant in Strasbourg, the raw materials are controlled several times, both in the internal quality department and in independant laboratories. Escal performs every year 4100 microbiological tests and 950 specific analysis. To this, can be added 2300 internal testings in order to ensure you an oustanding culinary pleasure.

This notion of quality  is reinforced by the IFS certification, obtained in 2003. The International Food Standard (IFS) is an international standard which has a purpose of quality and food security. It allows to verify that their suppliers have all the required competences. It includes 278 control points in all sphere of competence.

Escal and all its stakeholders are making the choice to avoid fishing in critical capture areas in order to refrain from contributing to some species extinction.

Applied to products which originate from organic method of production, this organic logo certifies an agricultural and aquacole production respectful of specific norms. Granted to producers following their certification by an independent organism, itself accredited, the European organic logo becomes mandatory in complement of potential national or private logos. Escal is today certified European organic and AB for its unit in Strasbourg.

Escal offers several BIO(organic) certified produits such as the raw prawns tails, the cooked gourmet prawns, the garlic and parsley shrimps, the mussels  and the salmon fillets.

Escal is also very careful on the reduction and sorting of waste. In this way, its carrying a particular importance to the green point and replacing the non-recycling packaging, such as foil, in recycling material. 100% of Escal's packaging is therefore recyclable.
