Ager acquires PescaChile assets, sets trade agreement with Europacífico

The company Ager SA, linked to the investment group Inder, through public auction acquired PescaChile assets, former subsidiary of the Galician multinational firm Pescanova.
The operation, for USD 45 million, involved the purchase of eight factory freezer vessels with their corresponding quotas.
In addition, the group Inder settled an agreement with the company from Vigo Europacífico Alimentos del Mar for seafood products to be traded in the Spanish and Portuguese markets, the distributor sources told EFE agency.
Europacífico director general Luis Suarez stressed that incorporating products from PescaChile strengthens its position in the distribution of products such as toothfish, kingclip, hoki, South Pacific hake, codling, octopus and shrimp, among others.
Currently, PescaChile operates in the region of Magallanes and was a subsidiary of Pescanova since the 1980s.
The Spanish multinational firm, had already separated before the division of aquaculture: Nova Austral and Acuinova Chile, companies engaged in salmon farming.
These companies were sold to Marine Harvest -- for USD 120 million – and to Ewos --for USD 183 million --, respectively, reported the newspaper El Mercurio.
