Marel's Salmon Skinner MS 1710.

Quality Seafood Deserves Quality Processing

  (BELGIUM, 3/15/2016)

Marel presents a range of new solutions and innovative additions to proven applications at this year's Seafood Processing Global, May 6-8.

High product quality and improved processing performance are a key focus this year. For handling and processing high quality raw material, processors should only accept the best quality processing technology.

Marel will exhibit advanced equipment and software solutions that enable whitefish and salmon processors to optimize yield, throughput, and product quality.

FleXicut combines high precision bone detection with water-jet trimming & pinbone removal.

Whitefish
Marel will continue to demonstrate the revolutionary technology of the FleXicut automatic pinbone detection and removal system with live demonstrations and the introduction of a new Innova production control software.

This innovative, new generation of processing technology is already in operation at Fisk Seafood, Norway Seafoods, Jakob Valgeir and Vísir. The system enables them to greatly reduce labor, increase yield and improve product quality

Marel will introduce the new Innova FleXicut software. This powerful, easy to use software module can manage and control all FleXicut actions from a single environment including setting up activities to define which raw material enters the machine and how it should be trimmed and portioned.

The software collects production data on all pieces and portions in real time, giving users an effective tool to analyze and optimize their process.

Marel continually develops new applications to meet customer need.

Salmon
The new MS 1355 Salmon Skinner will be in the spotlight. This single lane skinner operates head first using the same technique as its double lane counterpart MS 1710.

This method greatly reduces manual handling and helps maintain the best raw material quality possible in the skinning process.

Continually developing new applications to meet customer need, Marel will show a new infeed system for the MS2730 Filleting Machine that can handle salmon and trout in sizes down to 1,5 kg.

The new infeed system enables processors of smaller fish to process their raw material with automatic, quality technology.

New Service Program
Marel will introduce a new Service Program for the MS 2730 Filleting Machine and the FleXicut whitefish pinboning and portioning system. Preventive maintenance is at the heart of the new program, offering a structured way to reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns and maintain maximum performance.

The MS 1710 is the first salmon skinner on the market that skins fillets head first; meaning no need to turn the fillets and less risk of gaping.
