Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh SP Absorbent pads/liners for fish transportation.

New Absorbent Crate Liner Added to Sea-Fresh Range

  (UNITED KINGDOM, 9/24/2014)

Sirane has added a new absorbent crate liner for seafood packaging to its popular Sea-Fresh range – a range which helps optimise the sale price of fresh fish.

The new Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh SP mat/liner offers effective and fast absorbency in an easy-to-use format - which is also very clean due to the method of production used.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, sales director, said: “Sirane’s Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh range of absorbent liners quickly and effectively absorbs the melting ice and juices released during transportation. The liquid is absorbed and trapped inside the Sea-Fresh liner to prevent spillage and reduce odour – meaning sale prices of seafood can be optimised.

 The new Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh SP mat/liner.

“This new liner - which we’ve added to the Sea-Fresh range alongside the existing product - is made using a process which needs no adhesives, so the product is very clean. It is a strong, durable product – with excellent tensile strength, crucial for this sort of absorbent pad – and is very easy to handle, and easy to remove when saturated.

Sea-Fresh liners are excellent for lining crates of seafood, soaking up large amounts of water and fluid from the crates, meaning it arrives at the destination in a much better condition.”

Sirane has worked closely with seafood companies and they said that this product range is exactly what they need. They need high absorbency over a sustained period of time in a range of sizes. The cold crate packed with fish will remain cold and dry, optimising the condition and appearance – and in many cases the value of the contents.

Oven and microwave steam cooking bag which can be used as a counter bag - Si-bag.

Other seafood-based products include self-seal cooking bags perfect for steam cooking fish in an oven or microwave, the innovative dual-compartment Smart-Release bag allowing an infusion of fish and sauce in a microwave, and the new barbecue bag.

Another recent addition to Sirane’s Sea-Fresh range helps maintain the freshness of live seafood during transportation – and increase its value when it goes to market.

Ice-Mats absorbent pads.

Sirane’s new Ice-Mats maintain a supply of fresh saltwater throughout the journey, enhancing the condition, presentation – and ultimately price – of live seafood.

Dri-Fresh Sea-Fresh Ice-Mats are soaked in saltwater and then frozen. Once frozen, they are laid over the crates containing live seafood - during the transportation process the mat will slowly release the water, helping maintain the seafood’s freshness.

Perfect for crustaceans, such as lobster and crab, the product remains chilled, and the saltwater’s staggered release means that the product remains in a premium condition.

Gillian Carter, Sirane’s sales representative for seafood packaging, said: “This new product has been very much driven by demand within the industry – there is a real need. It’s a very simple solution which can make a real difference to the condition of live seafood when it arrives at its destination - which can have a real knock-on effect on price.”

Custom sizes and a range of absorbency levels are available with this product.
