Sustainability in Feed Production and Latest Trends in Research

AquaFarm confirms itself as an unmissable training event. As always, the fair combines the exhibition spaces with a broad agenda of conferences and workshops, organized in collaboration with the main experts and associations in the sector.

The 7th Edition of the International conference & trade show on aquaculture, shellfish farming, algaculture and fishing industry is being held on 14th and 15th February at the Pordenone Exhibition Centre in Italy.

Start-ups, small and big companies coming from Italy and abroad: AquaFarm is a moment of gathering which embraces all the different realities in the sector. At the Trade Show you can meet the actors in the industry,  share opinions and experiences and explore all the latest news whithn aquaculture, shellfish farming and sustainable fishing.

AquaFarm has become one of the most important appointments in Europe and it’s the only one in Italy dedicated to the sector of aquaculture, shellfish farming and sustainable fishing.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 14 February, two topics of great importance for the aquaculture sector will be addressed: sustainability in feed production and the latest trends in research.

Feed has a significant impact on the aquaculture supply chain, both economically and in terms of environmental impact: at AquaFarm researchers and innovators will present projects that have the important objective of making the sector more sustainable through the optimization and improvement of resources primaries and ingredients.

These topics will be addressed during the conference Circularity and sustainability in feed production, scheduled from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm.

AquaFarm every year gathers the most important figures within the research and innovation in the sector of aquaculture, algaeculture and sustainable fishing industry.

For the progress of an essential and rapidly growing sector such as aquaculture, a fundamental role is played by research. In the Technologies and trends in research session, scheduled from 4.30pm to 6.00pm, researchers and experts from all over the world will present the latest news relating to animal welfare throughout the entire breeding cycle, the use of fish skin in therapies medical, new selection methods and much more.

About AquaFarm

From its first edition in 2017, AquaFarm has become one of the most important appointments in Europe and it’s the only one in Italy dedicated to the sector of aquaculture, shellfish farming and sustainable fishing.

The expo is hosted by Pordenone Fiere, one of the most important exhibition centers in the North-East of Italy and gathers all the productive and commercial supply chain of the aquaculture sector. The farming of fishes and shellfishes in aquaculture is today one of the activities within food production that has the most rapidly increasing growth index.

In 2021, the birth of AlgaeFarm, the project enhances its portfolio with an interesting and important section: algaeculture, including farming, transformation and use pf both algae and microalgae.

AquaFarm is a place to meet and share knowledge among the most important operators. Every year it hosts the most important personalities within the research and innovation world that become the main characters of the conferences and debates taking place during the two days.
