Seagems is a supplier of marine ingredients, based on by-products from the seafood industry.

Seagems Strengthens Capital Base and Welcomes Skeie Technology as its Largest Shareholder

  (NORWAY, 1/15/2024)

Seagems Group AS has successfully completed an issuance of approximately NOK 50 million to both new and existing shareholders, bringing Kristiansand-based investor Skeie Technology on board as its largest shareholder.

The issuance was carried out to accelerate the company's ambitious plans to become the leading and most forward-thinking provider of natural marine ingredients to the global food market.

 Håkon Andre Berg.

In addition to bolstering its capital base, the company has recently established its presence in Asia, and continues product and market development in several exciting segments.

In line with increased commercial efforts, Jan-Emil Johannessen, with a background from Toro, Lerøy Fossen, and Benchmark Genetics, has joined the company as chairperson. Håkon Andre Berg, CEO of Skeie Technology, also joins the board, along with one of the company's founders, Oddvar Bjørge.
"Seagems is a business that aligns perfectly with our strategy of investing in responsible and forward-thinking companies with a solid platform for further growth. The company has a unique ability to produce high-quality natural marine ingredients in the most resource-efficient way, leaving a significant impact on both customers and suppliers,
" said CEO of Skeie Technology, Håkon Andre Berg.

 Elisabeth Maråk Støle.

"Therefore, we see excellent growth opportunities for Seagems in the years to come and are very pleased to become shareholders in the company," Berg added.

Elisabeth Maråk Støle, who took on the role of CEO at Seagems Group a year ago, commented on the completed capital increase and the strengthened shareholder and board composition: "We are very excited to have Skeie Technology on board and to have received capital infusion that enables us to further invest in the market opportunities we see available for the company".

"We have been in dialogue with Skeie Technology for an extended period and view them as an investor with significant experience in building growth companies in an international market. Through this transaction, we have established both a board and a shareholder composition that ensures access to capital and expertise, which we will benefit greatly from in the time ahead."
