The average price of frozen bluefin (HS 030345000 and 030346000) was JPY 242/t in Japan in January 2018, down 69% on that of the previous month and 70% on that of January 2017.

Markets

During the month analysed, imports of frozen bluefin registered 15 tonnes, worth JPY 3.5 million at Japanese Customs, down 98% in volume and value on those of December and down 92% in volume and value on those of January 2017.

In January, Malta sent 13 tonnes of frozen bluefin sent to Japan, worth JPY 3.5 million.
