Aware of Ecuadorian market needs in terms of providing extruded fish feed, Gisis began operations in late 1994, renting a room in the city of Babahoyo. From this beginning, Gisis stood out for teams working with the best technology, and the first floor I trade was with Wenger teams.

Thus Gisis had to be always innovating and improving their processes, managing to have a steady growth from the initial 2,000 MTPA to 120,000 MT of installed capacity. And this has been done through higher asset that shareholders have believed, as people.
On 8 October 2012 Nutreco announced the acquisition of 75% of the shares in Gisis, the shrimp and fish feed subsidiary of the Expalsa group.
