Illegal fishing in MSC certified fishery denounced

An international organization claims to have detected illegal fishing activities in a nephrops fishery, which was certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
According to environmentalist group The Black Fish (TBF), inspectors from the organization observed a few months ago that in the nephrops fishery operating in Kattegat, a sea area between northern Denmark and Sweden, boats used modified nets allowing for cod illegal capture.
This ground is an important spawning area for cod, which has been heavily exploited for decades.
