INFOPESCA is part of the FISH of fish marketing and information services. The network was created in late 1970 by the FAO (Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations)
INFOPESCA is an independent international organization committed to service to businesses, industry associations and governments in all aspects of fisheries and aquaculture development. Its particularity is to address various production projects, manufacturing and sales, keeping in mind a concept of marketing, ie market driven. Is made up of member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, but INFOPESCA not limit their activities within the region, if not also brings the knowledge and experience generated in fisheries and aquaculture in Latin America and the Caribbean to world.
The FISH INFOnetwork supplies timely, accurate and unbiased information on international fish markets and fish trade to FAO member countries, governmental agencies, universities, research institutions, private companies and individuals. The Network is co-ordinated by GLOBEFISH at FAO headquarters in Rome.
