Los Angeles grocery chains accused of overcharging

Ralphs and parent company the Kroger Co grocery chain have been accused of overcharging their customers in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has filed several charges against the popular supermarket company for alleged false and misleading advertising and overcharging and false labeling. Both Ralphs and Kroger each may be charged up to USD 256,000 in fines and penalties.
Ralphs is being charged with 14 counts of false and misleading advertising, 18 violations of unlawful computation of value, nine violations of selling prepackaged items in lower quantity than represented and 18 violations of false labeling.
