A large fish processing plant will appear on Sakhalin within the framework of investment quotas

The site being prepared for construction was visited by the head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Ilya Shestakov as part of a working trip. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of 2026.

The complex with a capacity of 80 thousand tons of raw materials per year will produce deeply processed frozen products.

"It is important that fish processing plants are being built as part of the second stage of investment quota distribution. One of the most modern plants on Sakhalin is being built here. Similar facilities exist on the Kuril Islands, and this will be the largest enterprise on Sakhalin," said Ilya Shestakov.

The project is being implemented by the Gidrostroy group of companies. The head of the Federal Agency for Fishery emphasized that the new plant will provide additional capacity for processing existing resources. Ilya Shestakov also inspected the Kirov Fishing Kolkhoz LLC. The enterprise processes up to 350 tons of salmon raw materials per day all year round.

"There are big plans for the development of the fishing industry in Sakhalin, we visited the site in the port where the reconstruction of berthing facilities is beginning, the site for the logistics complex is ready. All this will work for the fish industry. This will be a great contribution to the fisheries complex not only of Sakhalin, but of all of Russia," noted Ilya Shestakov.
