The Norwegian Pelagic Fishing Course in Week 17
NORWAY
Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 01:00 (GMT + 9)
Good week for blue whiting in the Faroese zone, but still poor for the sandeel
Blue whiting:
Last week, 19,499 tonnes of coal mullet were registered from 19 different boats. The fishing has been good in the Faroese zone, where most of the catches have been taken. There has also been some fishing on "Kanten", and now there are 19,509 tonnes of this year's quota of 372,641 remaining.
Sandel:
When it comes to the bison, things are still stagnant. 5-7 boats were out searching, but went ashore again on Thursday without a catch. The sea temperatures are still low, which means that the sandpiper stays under the sand. We are crossing our fingers that this fishery picks up over the next few weeks.

Otherwise, some small catches of horse mackerel, coastal sprat, mackerel and nvg herring have been reported.
Sales value
When it comes to the sales value per type of fish so far this year, it looks like this:
