Catch volume in Russia in January-February decreased by 12.7%

The volume of catch of aquatic biological resources in Russia in January-February 2021 decreased by 12.7% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 767.53 thousand tons. This is stated in the message of the Federal Agency for Fishery.
“According to the sectoral monitoring system, the total volume of extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources by all Russian users as of March 1 amounted to 767.53 thousand tons, which is 111.4 thousand tons, or 12.7%, less than the level of 2020 ", - the message says.
According to the Federal Agency for Fishery, there has been a tendency to reduce the lag from the level of production in the same period last year. For comparison, as of February 14, 2021, the lag from last year's indicators was 13.9%. In the Far Eastern fishery basin, the total volume of extraction of aquatic biological resources amounted to 567.85 thousand tons (109.53 thousand tons, or 16.17% less than the same period last year). In the pollock fishery, the catch amounted to 408.48 thousand tons (a decrease by 121.12 thousand tons), in the cod fishery - 31.94 thousand tons (a decrease by 4.53 thousand tons), in the herring fishery - 82.62 thousand tons (an increase of 26.59 thousand tons).
In the Northern fishery basin, the total volume of production amounted to 76.34 thousand tons (a decrease of 9.9 thousand tons, or 11.48%). In the cod fishery, the catch amounted to 57.29 thousand tons (decrease by 6.22 thousand tons), haddock - 12.96 thousand tons (decrease by 0.66 thousand tons). The total volume of production in the Western fishery basin amounted to 23.08 thousand tons (an increase of 8.34 thousand tons, or 56.58%). In the sprat fishery, the catch amounted to 17.98 thousand tons (an increase of 8.99 thousand tons), Baltic herring - 4.85 thousand tons (a decrease of 0.71 thousand tons).
In the Azov-Black Sea fishery basin, the total production amounted to 9.9 thousand tons, (a decrease of 6.1 thousand tons or 38.12%). In the anchovy fishery, the catch amounted to 8.39 thousand tons (a decrease of 6.28 thousand tons). In the Volga-Caspian fishery basin, the total volume of production amounted to 12.28 thousand tons (an increase of 8.86 thousand tons or 258.57%). The catch of sprat amounted to 11.72 thousand tons (an increase of 8.83 thousand tons).
The total volume of production in the zones of foreign states amounted to 52.5 thousand tons (an increase of 1.1 thousand tons or 2.2%), in the conventional areas and the open part of the World Ocean - 24.8 thousand tons, (a decrease of 4 , 3 thousand tons or 14.8%).
