The order of the year is updated, and news of success is frequent.

In 2022, the integrated development of Zhoushan's ocean-going fishery industry will achieve new successes. The comprehensive output value of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries will reach 37.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. In terms of subdivision, last year the city's distant water fishery, primary, secondary and tertiary industries had their own bright spots.

For the first time, the trading volume of squid exceeded 310,000 tons, the trading volume of tuna exceeded 60,000 tons

According to statistics, last year, the total output value of distant water fishing and related services (including overseas investment) in Zhoushan city reached 16.09 billion yuan (U$D 2 billion), a year-on-year increase of 20%. Among them, the output value of distant water fishing was 6.937 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26%.

In order to continuously enhance the ability to control squid resources and price influence, and conduct more accurate resource assessment and forecasting, the China Ocean Fisheries Association took the lead, jointly with Shanghai Ocean University, Zhoushan National Ocean Fishery Base and Hangzhou Shuliang Technology Co., Ltd. to compile and release China Ocean Fisheries Squid index.

The output value of ocean-going fishing-related services reached 9.153 billion yuan last year, a year-on-year increase of 16%, mainly concentrated in areas such as maritime transportation, port loading and unloading, logistics and warehousing, ship repair, production and living supplies for ocean-going fishing boats, and labor employment. As an international maritime service base, the economic vitality of Zhoushan Ocean Fishery Home Port is constantly being released.

The processing and trade of ocean-going aquatic products is also advancing continuously. According to statistics, the total output value of ocean-going aquatic product processing in Zhoushan city reached 7.236 billion yuan last year, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.

The growth of the secondary industry is mainly due to the retaliatory consumption rebound after the overseas epidemic was lifted, and the export orders increased significantly. Last year, the city's squid processing output value reached 3.386 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

Landings in China’s main squid hub, Zhoushan, increased strongly in 2021. According to the Zhoushan Distant-Water Fishery Port, more than 190 000 tonnes of squid were landed by 214 vessels operating in the Southwest Atlantic and East Pacific, during the first half of 2021 -->

Then turn our attention to the tertiary industry of pelagic fishery. Last year, the total annual trade volume of pelagic aquatic products in Zhoushan city was 14.634 billion yuan. Among them, the total domestic trade volume is 10.781 billion yuan, and the total import and export volume is 3.853 billion yuan. It is worth mentioning that last year, the total annual electronic transaction volume of Zhejiang Agricultural Center, a national offshore fishery base in Zhoushan, reached 5.063 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 47.6%, a record high.

Zhoushan is the country's largest pelagic fishing production, logistics supporting support base and main processing area. It is also the country's first national pelagic fishery base construction site and the largest pelagic self-fishing import port. A few days ago, Zhoushan city has launched a new round of three-year deep-water fishery campaign, and has issued "Several Policies for Further Accelerating the High-quality Development of Zhoushan's Pelagic Fishery". Wait for the output of the whole industrial chain to reach 60 billion yuan.
