The import unit price of giant tiger prawn rose 9 percent on-year

In December 2019, imports of frozen giant tiger prawn reached 240 tons, up 4 percent from 232 tons the previous year.
December's cumulative imports amounted to about 2,686 tons, up about 25 percent from about 2,156 tons a year earlier.
Over the past six years (from 2014 to 2019) the average amount of imports in December was 265 tons.
Compared to 240 tons this year, the figure is down 9.4 percent.
There are six major importers of frozen giant tiger prawn, including Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
It was imported in the order of about 2,180 tons in Malaysia, 308 tons in the Philippines, 167 tons in Vietnam, 25 tons in Guinea and 5 tons in Bangladesh.
