In the first two months of the year, Spain has incorporated a total of 716 tons of Norwegian skrei, worth almost four million euros (USD 4.34 M)

Positive consumption figures in Spain for premium wild cod skrei from Norway. Thus, between January and February, direct exports of this fish to the Spanish market have skyrocketed by 149% in volume, reaching 716 tons year-on-year, while the growth in value has been 128%, totaling 3.9 million euros (USD 4.23 M).

Compared to the end of fiscal year 2023, Spain increased purchases of Norwegian skrei by 26% year-on-year in volume (1,138 tons) and 49% in value (six million euros (USD 6.51 M)). Equally positive were the data for fresh farmed cod from Norway, with an increase of 112% (2,879 tons) and 145% in value (15.4 million euros (USD 16.70 M)).
