A new fish processing plant was put into operation in the city of Severo-Kurilsk on Paramushir (northern group of the Great ridge of the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin Oblast). The company "Alaid" will produce fresh frozen fish products: fillets, liver and caviar of cod, cut flounder, halibut, navaga, grenadier, according to a release from the government of the Sakhalin region.

Construction began in 2018, its opening was a significant event for the residents of the North Kuril region, since the fishing industry enterprises are the backbone of the economy of the North Kuril region. The industry there provides about 70% of jobs and about the same share of the municipal budget's own revenues. “The opening of a new production facility has increased the number of jobs in the region. And this is not only stable employment of local residents, but also additional tax revenues, "- quoted the words of the head of the Sakhalin Oblast Fisheries Agency, Ivan Radchenko.
According to the press service of the regional government, the plant's capacity allows it to process 150 tons of raw materials per day. The production lines operate on the basis of the most modern equipment of the German company Baader, well-known to the fishing industry. At the same time, the possibility of increasing production capacity and expanding the range of products with high added value was initially laid down. The plant is focused not only on the production of freshly frozen fish products, but also by-products - fish meal and fat. A high-tech fish meal plant manufactured by the Danish company Oestergaard A / S is capable of processing up to 60 tons of raw materials per day
