Korean imports of frozen pollock milt increased by 53%

Until April 2022, 435,571 tons of seafood were imported, and frozen pollack milt accounted for 5,057 tons, or 1.16%, higher than the proportion of 0.73% (2,577 tons out of 352,994 tons) in 2021.
In April, frozen Pollack milt imports amounted to 2,219 tons, up 51% from 1,474 tons a year earlier, and cumulative imports amounted to 5,057 tons, up 96% from 2,577 tons a year earlier.
The average import volume in April from 2017 to 2022 is 2,073 tons, and cumulative frozen pollack milt imports in April of the six years were the highest in 2018 (6,969 tons) and the lowest in 2021 (4,032 tons).
The import volume and unit price by country were 4,790 tons imported from Russia to USD 3.31/Kg, and 268 tons from the United States to 3.17/Kg.
The unit price of frozen Pollack milt was USD 3.24/Kg, up 65% from USD 1.97/Kg last year, and the import amount was USD 7.19 million, up 182% from USD 2.9 million last year.
The cumulative import unit price in April was USD 3.14/Kg, up 62% from USD 1.94/Kg last year, and the import amount was USD 15.86 million, up 218% from USD 4.98 million last year.
