This market reports focuses on harvests of seabream, seabass and turbot in the EU, especially in Spain. We also highlight harvests, prices, markets, imports and exports.

European Union

Turbot (Psetta maxima)
European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax)
Gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

Production

Spain

On Mercamadrid, supplies of all these aquaculture species declined, in all species, in August, compared with the previous month. The most important drop was reported by seabream.

On Mercabarna, in August, supplies of seabass, turbot and croaker increased. That of seabream declined.

Prices

Spain

On Mercamadrid, in August, average prices declined in small and medium seabass and in seabream, due to a lower demand. Those of large seabass and seabream increased, because of a drop in supplies. That of turbot remained stable.
