Prices

The average CIF price of frozen bluefin (HS 030345000 and 030346000) imported by Japan in September was JPY 909/kg, down 39% on that of November and 21% on that of the December 2017. During 2018 it averaged JPY 1,388/kg, up 6% than in the same period of the previous year.

Markets

During the month analysed, about 33 tonnes of frozen bluefin were imported, worth almost JPY 30 million, down 88% in volume and down 93% in value on those of December 2017.

During the period, imports reached 9,993 tonnes worth JPY 13,866 million, up 14% in volume and 21% in value on those of the same period in 2017.

During 2018, Australia sent 7,948 tonnes of frozen bluefin to Japan, worth JPY 10,876 million.
