This report covers the activity of salmon in Norway, focusing on aspects such as harvests, prices, markets and exports and imports.
1. EUROPE
1.1 Norway
Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar)
Prices
During week 45, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 54.48 (EUR 5.41/kg). This price is up 3% on that of the previous week and down 5% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was up 6% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 58.95 (EUR 5.85/kg), 16% higher than the price of the previous week and 1% on the same week of 2018, growing 1% in relation to the 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 19,393 tonnes. This figure is down 11 on that of the previous week and up 4% on that of the same week in 2018; it was up 1% on that of the same week in 2017. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 804,606 tonnes, up 5% on that of the same period in 2018 and 13% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 383 tonnes. This figure is down 41% on that of the previous week and 11% higher on that of the same week in 2018, it was down 30% on that of the same week in 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 17,528 tonnes, up 12% on that of the same period in the previous year and down 6% on that of the same period in 2017.
