Itoyori surimi
Price
The average CIF price of itoyori surimi was JPY 336/kg at Japanese Customs in September, down 1% on that of the previous month and similar on that of September 2018. In the first nine months, the average was JPY 338/kg, up 1% on that of the same period in 2018.

Markets
Japanese imports of itoyori surimi in the month analysed reached 970 tonnes, worth about JPY 326 million CIF, which indicates 6% lower volume and value in relation to August being similar in volume and down1% in value compared to September 2018.

In the nine first months of the year imports totaled 12,906 tonnes and JPY 4,364 million, 13% lower volume and 12% value than in the same period last year.

Thailand was the main supplier of itoyori surimi during the period. Sales amounted to 5,527 tonnes worth about JPY 2,023 million CIF. India supplied 2,951 tonnes.
