(born 1971) Farstad has been working with Marine Harvest since 2003. He has been part of the management team of the former Fjord Seafood (now integrated in the group) and Marine Harvest. During his career with the company, he has been vital in turning around Fjord Seafood and has successfully managed improvement programs in several operating units, including Fjord Seafood Norway and Marine Harvest's operations in Canada, Scotland and Ireland.
He serves as Director of Business Development and Strategy of Pan Marine ASA. He served as the Chief Executive of Fjord Seafood Norway AS from 2003 to 2006 and served as its Vice President for strategy and business development. He served as Consultant of McKinsey & Company from 1999 to 2004 and served as Project Engineer of Aker Maritime from 1997 to 1999. Mr. Farstad served as an Acting Chief Executive Officer of Marine Harvest ASA from March 2010 to July 19, 2010. Mr. Farstad served as an Executive Vice President of Norway of Fjord Seafood ASA, a subsidiary of Pan Fish ASA since September 2004. Mr. Farstad served as the Director of Business Development and Strategy at Marine Harvest ASA (Formerly Pan Fish ASA) since December 19, 2006. He served as Managing Director for Fjord Seafood Norway. Mr. Farstad has a Master of Science Degree in Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1996 and MBA from INSEAD in 2001.
In June 2010 he leave Marine Harvest ASA to join Aker Seafoods ASA as CEO of Aker Seafoods and 2011 CEO of Norway Seafoods.
