VIQON was founded in 2010 and has since then realized projects in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. It has developed a unique denitrification system that enables fish farmers to reduce water usage with more than 90%, a feature which gives farmers the opportunity to develop aquaculture projects in regions with limited water supply.
Being one of the few companies worldwide specialized in manure based denitrification on a commercial scale, VIQON has also developed a denitrification technique called DENOX. The DENOX system is a continuous water treatment technique based on active sludge. For this technique VIQON developed a new type of filter (membrane flow filter) to separate sludge from the cleaned water without using polymers or flocculants. The cleaned effluent from the DENOX system can be reused in the fish farm, reducing water usage with more than 90%.
