Egersund Lofoten AS is a pelagic fisheries landing and production facility located in Osan harbour, Svolvær, in the Lofoten Islands.
The facility was completed and ready for production in autumn 2003 and has the technical capacity to produce approximately 500 tonnes of raw materials a day.
The company has invested in new technology and stands as one of the most modern pelagic facilities in the world. Great emphasis has been placed on attaining optimum logistics.
Hopen Fisk & Sild AS (Ltd.) of Kabelvåg and K.J. Ellingsen AS Ltd.) of Skrova are long-established local herring companies that decided to collaborate on the establishment of something new and modern in the field of pelagic industry.
They were joined by other local investors and the project was initiated. Shareholders: K.J.Ellingsen AS - 36%, Eger Holding AS - 25%, Hopen Fisk&Sild AS - 18%, Pundslett Laks AS - 18%, Aquarius AS - 3%
Lofoten Pelagiske have changed name to Egersund Lofoten after being bought up by Egersund Seafood, Autumn 2009
