Mike Dillon has over 25 years experience within the food industry. He has written numerous publications and several books which have been delivered nationally and internationally. He has been involved in delivering consultancy to UK organisations and has specialised in developing effective fisheries inspection systems internationally - both in training and IT systems. He has led wider range of international consultancy and research on control in the seafood chain.
He was the director of the Humber Institute of Food & Fisheries for two years where he was involved with the development of special projects including the successful Humber Food Centre of Vocational Excellence. Under his leadership the institute has developed foundation degrees, which include Food Manufacturing Management, World Class Manufacturing and Logistics. The institute has successfully delivered training to SMEs through several special projects with the focus on providing support to the food industry.
He is a Vice Principal at The Grimsby Institute, where he is responsible for the Research and Enterprise areas within the Institute. He has recently been awarded professorship status by Hull University and fellowship of World Academy of Productivity Science. He has been involved with IAFI since inception.
