COMPANY PROFILE

Located amidst the sunny beaches near Mazatlan, Mexico, our shrimp hatchery enjoys polution-free ocean water, at a safe distance from agriculture, rivers and urban discharges. This clean environment ensures the best quality in our process, as well as a minimal need for medications.

Maricultura del Pacifico shrimp hatchery began construction in 1992 and started operations in March 1993. With an initial monthly production of five million postlarvae, by 1994 it had been increased five fold. This led to the need of a new hatchery and a maturation facility, which began operations in 1995.

Today Maricultura has a yearly production of 2.5 billion nauplii and 600 million postlarve. In 1997 the Research and Development department was created to aid in the improvement of larval rearing techniques, and has so far been involved in more than twenty research projects, many in cooperation with Mexican research institutions. We are also pioneering the domestication of shrimp through the use of very strict genetic techniques. Our quality control has placed our product in many states of Mexico and several other countries.
