A.P. Moller - Maersk Elevates Q2 2026 Results Driven by Ocean Segment and Strong Global Demand

COPENHAGUE — Global logistics giant A.P. Moller - Maersk presented its financial results for the second quarter (Q2) and first half (6M) of 2026, reporting a robust operational performance driven by an increase in spot rates and volumes in its Ocean division, alongside margin progression in Logistics & Services and sustained strength in Terminals.

Outstanding Second Quarter Performance (Q2 2026)

During the second quarter of 2026, consolidated company revenue reached USD 15,757 million, representing a 20.0% growth compared to the USD 13,130 million recorded in the same period of 2025.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached USD 2,992 million, surpassing the USD 2,298 million reported in the previous year. Meanwhile, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) stood at USD 1,571 million (compared to USD 845 million in Q2 2025), achieving an EBIT margin of 10.0%. Net profit for the period ended at USD 1,312 million.

Free cash flow improved significantly to reach USD 549 million, reversing the negative figure of USD -373 million recorded in the second quarter of 2025, driven by an increase in operating cash flow (USD 2,254 million) and a reduction in capital expenditure (CAPEX) to USD 931 million.

Performance by Business Segment

  • Ocean: Revenue reached USD 10,526 million (a 23% increase compared to USD 8,572 million in 2025), driven by a 22% increase in average loaded freight rates (USD 2,746/FFE) and a 4.1% growth in loaded volumes (3,361 thousand FFE), led by Asian exports. Segment EBIT recovered to USD 935 million (compared to USD 229 million in 2025).

  • Logistics & Services: Recorded its ninth consecutive quarter of year-on-year EBIT margin improvement (5.1% compared to 4.8% in 2025). Revenue increased 15% to USD 4,222 million (compared to USD 3,668 million in 2025), highlighted by the Landbridge solution in the Gulf region to maintain logistics continuity.

  • Terminals: Sustained high returns with revenue of USD 1,448 million (compared to USD 1,307 million in 2025), volume growth of 2.2% (3,663 thousand moves), and a 7.1% increase in revenue per move (USD 385). EBITDA rose to USD 517 million and EBIT reached USD 458 million.

First Half Review (6M 2026) and Updated Outlook

In the cumulative first six months of 2026, consolidated revenue reached USD 28,727 million, representing an 8.6% increase compared to USD 26,451 million in the first half of 2025. Half-year EBITDA stood at USD 4,745 million and EBIT at USD 1,911 million.

Based on Q2 performance and improved visibility for the second half of the year, A.P. Moller - Maersk updated its full-year 2026 financial guidance, assuming global container market volume growth of around 4%:

  • Underlying EBITDA: Adjusted to the range of USD 10.5 - 12.5 billion (previously projected at USD 8.0 - 10.0 billion as of June 29 and USD 4.5 - 7.0 billion as of May 7).

  • Underlying EBIT: Adjusted to USD 4.5 - 6.5 billion (compared to USD 2.0 - 4.0 billion as of June 29).

  • Cumulative CAPEX 2025-2026: Remains unchanged at USD 10.0 - 11.0 billion.

Furthermore, the company continued executing its share buy-back programme of up to USD 1.0 billion announced in February 2026, of which USD 376 million had been executed by the end of Q2 2026.
