IFC Brazil 2025: Cooperatives Take Center Stage in Strengthening Brazilian Fish Farming

The International Fish Congress, held from September 2-4 in Foz do Iguaçu, focuses on the role of cooperative models in driving sustainable growth and market access for the national aquaculture sector.
 The seventh edition of the International Fish Congress (IFC Brazil 2025) is set to highlight the critical role of cooperatives in the development of Brazilian fish farming. Taking place from September 2nd to 4th in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, the event will feature a dedicated panel where leaders from prominent cooperatives like Copacol, C.Vale, Lar, and Coopavel will share their strategies and success stories.
Altemir Gregolin, president of IFC Brazil 2025, emphasized the collective strength of cooperatives as a key driver for the sector's growth. "This union of producers around common goals has been generating scale, efficiency, and access to markets with higher added value," he said. The congress, themed "Strong Aquaculture, Competitive Brazil," aims to provide a dynamic platform for strategic discussions, technical panels, and networking.
The event's program, outlined by CEO Eliana Panty, maintains a strong focus on technical topics, including panels on market trends,  aquaculture health, water quality management, and fish genetics. "The new format, with lectures from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., expands opportunities for knowledge exchange," Panty noted. A key feature is the Technology and Business Fair, open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., which will showcase innovations and facilitate business opportunities. The "Fish Arena" within the fair will also provide a space for companies to present practical solutions to industry challenges.
In addition to technical sessions, IFC Brazil 2025 offers a wide range of activities, including the popular Tilapia Festival and Tambaqui Festival, business roundtables with FIEP, and a workshop on farmed fish exports. The event also includes a space for startups (Inova Aqua) and the seventh "Women of the Waters Meeting," celebrating the contributions of women in the sector. With free access for producers with CAD PRO and a focus on fostering cooperation and innovation, IFC Brazil 2025 is positioned as a pivotal event for the future of national aquaculture.
