Frozen cod milts iports increased by 183%

In June 2020, the import volume of frozen cod milts was about 711 tons, up 183% from 251 tons the previous year.
The June cumulative imports amounted to about 2,001 tons, down 14 % from 2,316 tons a year earlier.
The average June import volume from 2014 to 2020 was 444 tons, an increase of about 60 % from 711 tons in June 2020.
The major suppliers of frozen cod milts are the United States, Iceland, Russia and Norway. About 66 % (1,312 tons) of the total volume were imported from the United States, 24 % (485 tons) from Russia and about 8% (156 tons) from Iceland.
The average import price of frozen cod milts increased by about 19% in June. In June 2020, frozen cod milts imported approximately USD 1.36 million, up 238% from USD 400,000 the previous year.
