Hake exploratory fishing approved for artisanal vessels

Validity of fishing will begin this Wednesday and will last for a year, the Peruvian Sea Institute reported.
Starting tomorrow, July 24, will begin exploratory fishing for the hake marine resource in which artisanal vessels will participate, the Peruvian Sea Institute (Imarpe) informed by resolution through the Ministry of Production (Produce).
This fishing will be carried out along the north coast and for a period of 365 days. In addition, it is specified that the resource extracted will serve only for direct human consumption.
Likewise, authorized exploratory fishing will be carried out under conditions such as the owners of artisanal fishing vessels participating in this activity must accredit current fishing permit and use only passive fishing gear and gear such as curtain nets, pint, among others recommended by the IMARPE.

The shipowners of the fishing vessels participating in exploratory fishing are also obliged to comply with the indications and directives issued by IMARPE in the framework of said activity.
Finally, the vessels must bring to the landing site, the resource captured in whole and allow IMARPE observers to take the necessary samples, according to internal protocols, in order to carry out the corresponding activities. At least four samples will be taken every week, each consisting of four boxes of approximately 25 kilograms each, for which they must grant the facilities of the case.
