Company Becomes One of the Few in Mainland China with Two BAP-Certified Rainbow Trout Farming Bases

On January 31, 2026, Fangxian Guigu Ecological Aquaculture Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Agriculture, officially received Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification from the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA). This milestone marks another major step in the company’s nationwide expansion and internationalization strategy, following the Shangnan base in Shaanxi Province, which became the first BAP-certified rainbow trout farm in Shaanxi in early 2025. With this achievement, Green Agriculture now stands among the few enterprises in mainland China operating two BAP-certified rainbow trout aquaculture bases.

The Fangxian Guigu Base is located in Wafangping Village, Jiudao Township, Fangxian County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. Nestled in the Qinling–Bashan mountain range on the northern slope of Shennongjia, the base sits at an average altitude exceeding 1,200 meters. Its pristine water sources, stable low temperatures, and pollution-free natural surroundings provide an exceptional environment for cold-water fish farming, particularly rainbow trout. Since its establishment, the base has consistently upheld a development philosophy centered on ecological priority and standardized management, implementing strict controls across the entire breeding process to ensure product safety, animal health, and full traceability.

The BAP certification system is one of the world’s most authoritative aquaculture standards, evaluating operations across five core dimensions: food safety, environmental responsibility, animal welfare, employee rights, and supply chain transparency. Certification not only reflects compliance with rigorous international benchmarks, but also serves as a recognized “green passport” for entry into high-end markets in Europe and the United States. At present, the number of BAP-certified rainbow trout producers nationwide remains extremely limited, underscoring the significance of Green Agriculture’s dual-base certification layout and its sustained investment in high-quality aquaculture practices.
