Fishing activity for NVG herring in the north has slowed as most vessels have completed their quotas. However, the brand-new coastal vessel, the 'Elias Johan', has arrived in Norway following its completion in Denmark.
On Thursday, the 'Elias Johan' reported its first catch: 430 tonnes of NVG herring sourced from Kvænangen. The fish had an average weight of 310 grams and was landed in Senjahopen.
A second report quickly followed late Sunday evening from the 'Elias Johan', declaring another 430 tonnes of herring, with this batch averaging 305 grams. The pace is brisk for the new vessel. Additionally, 134 tonnes of penned (låssatt) NVG herring were reported from Vesterålen, with the fish weighing between 240 and 270 grams.

A total of 3,636 tonnes were also reported for reduction into meal and oil. This included landings from three vessels: one Norwegian, one Swedish, and one Danish boat.
