Russian Fisheries Achieve Near 4.4 Million Ton Total Catch

Far Eastern Waters Dominate Record Haul as National Catch Nears Annual Goal
The total catch of aquatic bioresources by all Russian users has approached 4.4 million tons, according to the industry monitoring system of the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo). The recorded volume stands at 4,380.3 thousand tons.
Basin-Specific Catch Statistics (Figures in Thousand Tons)

Far Eastern Fishery Basin: A dominant 3,382.3 thousand tons was caught.

Pollock accounted for 2,029.9 thousand tons, an increase of 139.7 thousand tons over 2024.

Pacific herring was 531 thousand tons (up 142.8 thousand tons from 2024).

Cod totaled 107.7 thousand tons (up 7.1 thousand tons from 2024).

Far Eastern flounder reached 65.4 thousand tons (up 6.1 thousand tons from 2024).

Northern Fishery Basin: The total catch was 300.7 thousand tons.

Western Fishery Basin: The basin yielded 67.8 thousand tons.

Sprat (kilka) amounted to 36.3 thousand tons, a slight increase of 0.2 thousand tons compared to 2024.

Baltic herring (sprat) was 22.2 thousand tons.

Azov-Black Sea Fishery Basin: The catch stood at 41.7 thousand tons, representing a 34.3% increase over the 2024 level.

Volga-Caspian Fishery Basin: Total production reached 70.2 thousand tons.

West Siberian Fishery Basin: 36.5 thousand tons.

East Siberian Fishery Basin: 2.4 thousand tons.

Baikal Fishery Basin: 1.5 thousand tons.

Production volume by the Russian fleet in the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, conventional areas, and the open part of the World Ocean reached 477.2 thousand tons, an increase of 4.2% (19.1 thousand tons) compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
