Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) suspects the presence of infectious salmon anaemia virus (ISA) at two sites in Finnmark, in the northern region of Norway.
These are the Pollen site and at the Lille Kvalfjord site, in which the firm has joint operations with the Store Kvalfjord site, where the first suspicion of the disease emerged.
In total in the operating area, including Store Kvalfjord, there are 1.4 million fish with an average weight of about 3 kilograms.
NRS has received confirmation of ISA at the Store Kvalfjord site and is awaiting confirmation from the analysis company for a final ascertainment of ISA at both sites.
The firm has begun extracting the fish from the operating area, considering the consequences of a possible disease detection are still difficult to estimate.
