OCEANiCS, cutting-edge navigation system by D-ICE

D-ICE Engineering, a pioneering French company, is transforming the maritime and offshore sectors with cutting-edge technological solutions. At the forefront of its innovations is OCEANiCS, a groundbreaking navigation system that enhances both the efficiency and safety of marine operations. With support from BlueInvest, D-ICE recently secured €6 million in funding to further develop its trailblazing technologies.

"Thanks to BlueInvest, we are better equipped to fine-tune our strategy, which is critical for the growth of deep-tech solutions," said Sofien Kerkeni, CEO of D-ICE Engineering.

Deep-Tech Solutions for the Ocean

Founded in Nantes, France, D-ICE Engineering specializes in deep-tech solutions tailored to the maritime, offshore energy, sailing, and marine renewables industries. The company addresses key challenges such as route and weather optimization, and real-time control, enabling vessels to operate more efficiently and sustainably.

D-ICE currently employs 30 people and continues to grow organically while exploring new markets.

OCEANiCS: A Breakthrough in Sustainable Marine Operations

D-ICE’s flagship product, OCEANiCS, is a certified, all-in-one solution that enables vessels to navigate complex maritime environments more safely and efficiently. The system integrates advanced features such as ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System), autopilot, dynamic positioning, weather routing, and data analytics.

By utilizing real-time data and predictive analytics, OCEANiCS enhances decision-making, optimizing routes and reducing fuel consumption by up to 20%. This not only improves operational efficiency but also supports global sustainability efforts by cutting emissions.

BlueInvest: Empowering Growth

Through its Readiness Assistance Programme, BlueInvest provided D-ICE Engineering with essential strategic guidance, helping the company refine both its business model and its technological offerings.

Navigating the fundraising process was a challenge for the company, says Kerkeni: "Fundraising for deep-tech companies is a complex exercise, as our products are the culmination of years of research and multiple technological breakthroughs." The support from BlueInvest was instrumental in honing D-ICE's value proposition for investors.

BlueInvest's assistance played a crucial role in D-ICE's successful €6 million fundraising round, led by SWEN CP’s Blue Ocean fund, a key partner in the BlueInvest ecosystem. This investment will enable D-ICE to accelerate the development of its innovative solutions and expand its market presence.
