Fishing rights to be implemented to species for human consumption

The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) will publish this month the proposal for the implementation of fishing rights for species of direct human consumption, which would include jack mackerel, hake, mackerel and eel, among other resources.
In this regard, Vice Minister of Fisheries Javier Atkins said that this new proposal is based on the experience that is implemented in the indirect consumer industry, for anchovy fishing.
"We are preparing the project and this month we will publish it to receive the opinions of those interested," he said in statements published by Gestión.
On the other hand, Atkins said that the report for the implementation of fishing rights for the anchovy is already finished and that in the coming days they could announce the proposal for its payment in order to receive the comments of those interested.
It should be noted that, up to now, fishing companies have paid around 0.25 per cent of FOB value per metric ton of fishmeal.
"What has been determined is an increase in the total value, which is supported by several reports, at the same time this will be aligned with the behaviour of the season," said the deputy minister.
The document will be published on the website of the Ministry of Production for 30 days. After this deadline, the comments received will be analyzed and some adjustments will be made, if necessary, before the official publication of the final version.
