Vietnam’s largest fishmeal factory starts operations

The largest fishmeal factory in Vietnam, which required a USD 3 million investment, has just started its operations in the province of Ca Mau, in the south of the country.
The plant, set up in the village of Song Doc, Tran Van Thoi district, is equipped with modern European technology and has capacity to produce 30,000 tonnes of fishmeal annually, VNA reported.
Factory director Phan Hoa Hiep explained that the choice of Song Doc to place the plant is due to the abundance of resources in the region, as thousands of vessels operate in the area will ensure a daily supply of up to 400 tonnes of fish.
The factory covers an area of 10,000 square metres, and its construction was funded by a joint venture formed by Hung Vuong Group and Minh Thang Ca Mau.
