Marine Conservation Biology Institute (MCBI) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that protects ocean life through science and conservation advocacy.
Everything MCBI does is science-based. Since our founding in 1996, MCBI’s results-based approach in marine conservation has been accomplished by bringing together scientists of different disciplines to address the highest-impact emerging issues, allying with scientific and environmental organizations with complementary capabilities, focusing attention on major threats to our oceans, and working in US and global political arenas to secure protection for marine ecosystems. MCBI’s staff and volunteers work out of our headquarters in Bellevue, WA as well as our Washington DC, California, and Hawaii offices.
